The weather was very kind to the ten club members who met at Waikowhai Park on Saturday 2 November.
We set off at 2 pm for Wattle Bay, diverting on the way to a lookout where we got beautiful views of
the Manukau Harbour.
At Wattle Bay we found a shady area for a rest and devotions brought by
Jenny Jones. She shared about God being with us through the twists and turns of life, concluding with
a reading of the Footsteps poem: One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes
from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were
two sets of footprints; other times there was only one. During the low periods of my life I could see
only one set of footprints, so I said, "You promised me, Lord, that you would walk with me always. Why,
when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you."
We returned to the carpark
via Waikowhai Bay, arriving back at the carpark just after 4 pm.
