20 people gathered at Mahurangi West Regional Park on 1 February. We had a very pleasant summer day doing
the walk north to Mita Bay, then after lunch south to Te Muri Bay. A swim at midday was a great opportunity
to cool down! Alan and Joy lead the hike with assistance from two young grandsons, Henri and Walter.
Alan gave a reflection on the famous missionary and explorer David Livingstone and noted the
significant contribution Livingstone had made to the abolition of the slave trade.
