HERALD ISLAND HUDDLE

Herald Island           Sun 5 May

Nineteen people gathered for a walk around the hidden gem of Herald Island in Whenuapai - a first-time visit for some of us. Led by enthusiastic Christine and Ali, we started our journey with Christine showing us the house she grew up in - a personal and heartwarming moment before we crossed the causeway onto the island.

The scenery was simply stunning. We passed charming homes nestled along the waterfront, a quaint little wharf, bobbing boats gently moored in the calm waters, and admired the impressive flyover bridge in the distance. As we made our way around the island, we also walked near the airfield before completing the loop back to our cars.

Ali led us in a devotion on the phrase "benevolent universe"  giving us all a chance to pause, look around and  reflect on the meaning. It helps us to remember just how much we have to be thankful for.
