18 eager people gathered to do the Arataki Loop walk. It was a warm, fine afternoon with plenty of cloud
cover so we didn't bake in the sun.
From the Arataki Visitors Centre we went down the Beveridge
Track, turn right onto Exhibition Drive with great views over one of three dams in West Auckland. At
the bottom of Exhibition Drive, we turned right onto Pipeline Track. Almost at the end of this section,
we stopped for afternoon tea and devotions, which were taken by Joy Webb, who shared on her livid experience
with a head injury and having to trust God on the unknown path of life.
Refreshed and refuelled
we took on the mighty Slip Track, conquering it with confidence and were rewarded with panoramic views
of Auckland and a Danish ice cream once back at the Arataki Visitor Centre.
The walk was 6.1km
with an elevation gain of 236 metres. A beautiful day with great company, good conversations, great
views in the presence of mighty God and finished off with wonderful ice cream.
