Twenty people turned out for the Wenderholm Wanderings track on Sunday 2 February. We started with the
usual intros and a short prayer of thanks. The days weather was a beautiful and very sunny and windless
day. Setting off at 2:20pm, from just inside the main gates of the park, we walked towards the highway
and onto the Perimeter Track. At Kokoru Bay, we stopped for a breather and to admire the view across
the bay to Wairewa, only for some to notice the kereru perched in the tree just above our heads.

We turned, to start the uphill walk, which a few people struggled with, to the look out over the
cliff tops to the wonderful view of the Hauraki Gulf and to the north to the Mahurangi peninsular and
the Puhoi River.
