Eleven members met at 1.15pm and participated in 3 activities, setting up Trios Tents and Double Flys,
lighting Coleman and MSR stoves and learning to use the electronic equipment including Club radios, GPS
and PLB (personal locator beacon). An emergency fly was erected on the front lawn to show how they can
be attached to trees and supported with tramping poles.
Barbara opened the afternoon with prayer
and shared resources for leaders, including the gear list, detailed notes on stoves and tent use, and
information for researching tramps. We divided into groups to share the practical aspects of the training.
Afternoon tea was enjoyed during the afternoon. The afternoon concluded at 4.30pm, after all viewing
the search and rescue tracking devices Laurie demonstrated.
