Meeting at the Botanic Gardens Pavilion, we set off at 2pm, through the Botanic Gardens beyond the Rose
Garden to the bush entrance. Taking the waterfall walk, we moved through to the main Puhunui Forest trail.
Some stepped portions led us up to the higher parts and then back lower to the stream. We continued past
the open area with swings, across the road, continuing to almost the far end, crossing back through the
Nikau Link track, while appreciating the grove of Nikau Trees. Arriving at the Parking area with swimming
pool and seats under the large spreading trees, we took a snack stop.
Barbara L shared some
thoughts and Scriptures on God’s faithfulness. Winding our way back through a grove of spreading Totara
Trees, and more open pathways, the rain began. We took the first exit directed to the Botanic Gardens,
and exited through the Magnolia and Camelia Garden, back to the Pavilion by 3.45pm.
COST: $5
from Bracken Ave.
