A total of 36 people attended the Summer Tramps Reunion which was held at Remuera Baptist Church and
began at 5pm with mix and mingle. After Welcome, introduction and Grace by Cathie food was put out for
mains at 5.30pm and a lovely meal was had.
After the mains, David Rutherford spoke about the options
for the next Summer Tramps: The Old Ghost Road, Mole Tops and Thousand Acre Plateau. A plea was made
for people to help planning this. Dessert followed and then we had reports and slide shows by various
presenters of the tramps and walks in 'Captivating Canterbury" - Tekapo Day Walks Barbara Langridge;
Camp Stream o/n - David Walker; Mount Cook Day Walks - Sunny Sun; Mueller Hut - Ian Marshall; Twizel
Day Walks - Barbara Steel/David Walker (Sophie Ye's photos); Temple Valley - David Walker
Two
people also highlighted fundraising opportunities: Ruth Ungenuth showed us how she had turned $100 of
'seed' money from her church into framed prints that she was selling. The funds raised would go towards
community projects.
Barbara Langridge showed us cards she had made using photos from the late
Joy Whitehead's photo album. Packs are selling for $5 and funds raised will go towards her church's Nepal
trip.
Barbara L gave the devotions, showing photos with Bible verses that had been in the photo
competition, and David Rutherfurd concluded with a prayer.
