The 13 participants enjoyed exploring the delightful little bush area at the back of St John’s College
where there are fine examples of native trees and information about native species of animals. We didn’t
make any amazing discoveries but on a beautiful Auckland day we enjoyed the views and the company.
We then crossed St John’s Road and reparked our cars at the end of Grande Ave to get access to Waiatarua
Reserve. In places there was evidence of recent flooding and there is no longer access to the centre
of the Wetland area. A walk through a wooded area was a new experience for some.
Tina with her
usual flair for language presented us with devotions about the dependability of Mother Nature as we walk,
so much to appreciate, thank you Creator Father God. One of our group also shared that the wetland area
is actually an old volcanic crater.
