A group of 22 people braved a windy but rainless afternoon to do the walk from Pt England to St Heliers.
We left from the end of Pt England Rd and followed the coastal path around the edge of the paddocks
of Pt England Reserve to come out to the Tahuna Torea Reserve. This included a section of track that
had been badly damaged by a slip.

Christine shared about how we are to have a balanced lifestyle just as Jesus did. Jesus did plenty
of physical exercise, often on the move walking from place to place. He took plenty of time to rest and
sleep. Jesus had heaps of friends, including the 12 disciples three of whom were his very close mates.
He never bottled up his feelings, He always shared them - love, compassion, anger, joy and even depression.
Jesus showed that healthy physical touch was a stress reliever and healer, touching all sorts of sick
and needy people, and being touched as well. Many times Jesus would go aside and spend time alone with
His Father resting and praying.
We continued through the Tahuna Torea Reserve with its wetlands
and birdlife and came out on to Roberta Ave. After a short break we went into Churchill Park, following
a track up a gully to Kinsale Rd. The owners of a row of homes across the gully had joined up the back
parts of their sections to form a common reserve area. This was a private reserve off-limits to the public,
but we could view its beauty from the track.

After coming out on Riddell Rd we went to West Tamaki Head where we could look out to Browns Island
and listen to Ian tell us a few things about this and other extinct volcanoes in the area.

We carried on down past the sports fields of Glover Park and up to the lookout at Achilles Point
that had recently been done up with a new viewing platform hanging over the cliff. There were views of
the coastline, Rangitoto Island and a reef below us.
