A drizzly wet morning didn’t stop about 35 people and one dog from taking a walk along the waterfront
from Okahu Bay to St Heliers and return. The liquid sunshine had stopped by the time we started, and
we had dry weather all the way.
Three car loads left The Bracken at 1:30pm and met up with the
others at Okahu Bay at 2pm. We set out along Tamaki Drive past Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World, then
went up into the Bastion Point reserve. When we reached the trig at the top of the reserve we had a short
stop.

We then went on to the Savage Memorial.

From there we dropped down to Mission Bay to walk along Tamaki Drive to St Heliers.

After a break for afternoon tea and icecreams it was a leisurely walk back to Mission Bay. Some of
the group went straight on to Okahu Bay, while others decided to have an early dinner at one or two of
the cafes and restaurants at Mission Bay.
