A group of 23 people gathered in the home of Paul and Ruth Ungemuth on 24 May 2014. The presentation
by Powerpoint was shared by Barbara Langridge, Peter Osborne, Laurie King and Paul & Ruth. Barbara introduced
the importance of risk management for our leaders, and the difference between real and perceived risk.
Peter underlined ABTC intentions to ensure we tramp safely with structured expectations (and required
forms) to provide leaders with resources and procedures to support the leadership task.
Paul
discussed the ways of helping our tramping participants to enjoy the Club activities by including everyone,
and putting strategies in place to ensure we tramp safely. Laurie underlined the ways of managing Emergencies
we encounter on the track. Ruth shared how to manage an injured or unwell tramper. She focused on awareness
of dangers of Hypothermia and how to identify this in its early stages, and treat it. Barbara summarised
the club forms and procedures we use, and thanked everyone for attending. Paul encouraged all attendees
to be willing to step up to lead tramps in the future.
The session was opened by prayer and President
Paul concluded with prayer.
