We met at the Point England Car Park and looked out on the Tamaki River. There had been a report of
Orcas in view but we were too late to see them!
We took the level concrete path south along the
riverside, with views of the many boats moored in the river, and it looking its best a high tide. Passing
reserves, very high palm trees and sports fields, we arrived at Panmure Wharf area where some were fishing
from the wharf.
We had a short break and a group photo. Then returned back the same way. The weather
was mostly fine, with a cool wind. We enjoyed a wide rainbow to the south as a rain shower drew near.
It passed over quite quickly.
Back at the reserve we had afternoon tea and a short devotion about
talents and teamwork. As in an orchestra where players need to blend in with others, also in a Christian
community we need to be aware of others and share our differing talents.
Some of the group then
walked the path northwards, until another shower of rain drove us back to our cars. We were grateful
for a pleasant walk in good company!
