Twenty-five people gathered at the home of CS and Michelle in Howick to visit Nepal with Eileen, Tay-Marie
and Jeff who were involved with Everest Build, a house-building project by Habitat for Humanity that
took place in October last year.
Eileen showed some interesting slides of how the three people
joined over 400 volunteers (including 150 kiwis) from all over the world at a community near the city
of Pokhara. They built 40 homes made of bamboo in just one week.
Jeff then showed photos of a
tramping trip they did after the work was done, after which Tay-Marie showed more pics of the massive
working bee.
A pot-luck supper followed.
