After the cancellation of the programmed tramp Phillip and Nelson offered to return to “the mountain” for a day walk with extra time walking at Waihi beach. Ten trampers met there on the Friday night and we were joined by four others at Te Aroha on Saturday morning for a walk in the best of weather conditions. “Two hours up and one down” was a fair guide for the walk. Many people were walking and we ate our lunch at the summit sharing the view with many others. The devotion on hills was deferred and taken on the Sunday on beautiful Orokawa beach on our walk from Homunga to Waihi beach. We talked about some of the hills in the Bible in the fulfilment of God’s plan for His people especially on a hill named Calvary.
