9 of us went to Maratoto Valley on a superb sunny day. We went up  to the saddle and then walked around the lake at Golden Cross.. Peter did a bit of geocashing, finding some hidden treasure. Several of us took full packs, to train for the Easter trip to Mt Taranaki. There were a few relics of the mining to look at, mostly silver mining in this area. After a stop for coffee on the way home, we were back in Auckland by about 5pm.
