We walked over the footbridge and back, then made our way through the village and up to the mount. The
path was easy and pleasant - a gradual climb circuiting the crater. We stopped at the viewpoint out
to Puketutu Island and Ambury Farm park. Mike shared some insights about the history of the maunga.
Jenny shared a devotion about putting our trust in God each day. She based it around two well-known
hymns: Great is Thy Faithfulness and Amazing Grace.
Then we headed further around to the highest
point, where the whole group photo was taken, and to the other end with an outlook back to Mangere bridge.
The new wooden steps took us down, to a grassy path that led us to a lovely family activity area, with
various play equipment. We ended up on the road heading back to town, and there we stopped at the Coronation
Cafe to enjoy a well-earned ice cream.
