An alternative was given after the Hakarimata Walkway was cancelled due to the weather. We meet at 8am,
led by Tina Chen. Sonia and Cheng joined the tramp walking from the carpark in Coronation Road along
Kiwi Esplanade to Ambury Park. From there we followed the walking track and then split off to the Watercare
Coastal track walking to the Watercare plant and to the entrance to Puketutu Island. Then we returned
back the way we came. This took four hours and we had some strong breezes and light showers of rain during
that time. Now lunchtime, we walked into Mangere Bridge town centre and had lunch at local cafe. An enjoyable
time was had by all.
