A modern spacious home at the back of Snells Beach provided a great centre for our Alternative Easter Tramping Weekend. We were blessed with wonderful weather to enjoy the varied delights of  the Mahurangi  Peninsula.   On Good Friday we tackled the climb to the top of Mount Tamahunga  where we enjoyed our lunch in the sun before descending into a short blast of rain.

Our Saturday excursion took us over to Tawharanui Regional Park where we walked the circuit taking in the North/South Coast Tracks particularly enjoying the stunning views at the end of the peninsula from Tokatu Point.  Our evening entertainment was a meal out together at the Bridgehouse Restaurant in Warkworth.

On Sunday we all attended church in Warkworth most of us going to the local Presbyterian Church where there was a suitable Christ is Risen theme.  After lunch we separated as a number were interested in doing the Brick Bay Sculpture Walk. The remainder went over to Scott’s Landing and were able to see inside the old homestead there.  We then all met up at Scandrett Regional Park and went for a further short walk there.

We didn’t have to vacate the house until mid afternoon on the Monday so after cleaning up we ended our weekend with a return walk along the Ti Point Coastal Walkway, a very pleasant walk with coffee afterwards at Leigh Sawmill cafe.

Beulah Wood motivated us spiritually and we had three special times of sharing together in the comfort of our holiday home.

It was a most enjoyable relaxing weekend enjoying good food, good fun and good exercise.
