We had a good number turnout 24 in total with good weather on the day for a 9km tramp starting at the Karekare carpark. We started as is the custom with introductions and prayer. Colin set the pace up Zion hill track to Zion Ridge track, then to a small downward section of the Buck Taylor track, and turn right of the Pararaha track through the wetlands around the sand dunes. The group spilt up into a faster and a slower one which seems to work well for a large group. The two groups were about 40min apart by the time they meet up at the camp site and tunnel on the old tram line. After lunch it was a short walk back to the cars via the beach and sand dunes.  A short enjoyable time was had by all.
