The Club’s annual winter dance night this year featured Israeli dancing and was held at St George’s hall
in Ranfurly Rd., Epsom. We had a very good turnout that filled up the hall.

The programme was led by Eileen’s Israeli dance teacher, Yasman Palmoni. She introduced us to several
folk dances including mayim, nigun atik, tzadik katamar and hora chadera. We were taken through the steps
of each dance without the music before enjoying each dance to genuine Jewish folk tunes. As with most
dancing, it was a challenge to pick up the steps once the music started, but it was fun swinging ourselves
around the dance floor!

We had two breaks during the evening. After the second break Yasman took us through the dances we
had learned so there was more music and less practice. A pot luck supper followed which gave us time
to catch up with each other and meet new people.
COST: $5 plus plate or drink for supper.
