32 people turned up to do the Opanuku Walkway from Henderson Valley to the Corban Estate in central Henderson, and return the same way. We met at Henderson Valley Rd where it crosses Opanuku Stream at 2pm. After the intros and karakia we set out at 2:10pm following an easy concrete path that followed the Opanuku Stream through reserves, with a few artistic decorations on the way. In one place we saw an Indian Orthodox church that looked like an Indian temple.

We walked as far as the Corban Estate and had our break in the grounds of this home of art in west Auckland. Mary shared Bible verses from 1 Peter and 1 Corinthians about how we Christian believers are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation which we were not before coming to Christ as Lord and Saviour, and how we being different from one another and with various functions are all one in the body of Christ, just as the human body has parts with differing functions. Tina translated the devotions for the many Chinese people who were present. Mary then said that in Heaven we will be readily able to speak with everyone else, that there will be only one language with no need to translate - and Tina translated this as well. We were invited to stand up and join hands to sing the 1970s worship song We Are One In The Bond Of Love.

After having a look inside the old church at Corban Estate we went back the way we came to our starting point in Henderson Valley.
