A group of 30 people had a walk through the Harker Reserve and Vivian Falls at Onehwero, just across
the Waikato River from Tuakau, 55km from Epsom. After our intros, karakia and group photo we set out
at 2:45pm along a wide gravel track through bush and farm land to come to the Vivian Falls at 3:20pm.
We had our break admiring the cascading waterfalls, the surrounding bush and the lovely green groundcover
of wandering jew, normally known as the gardener's nightmare.

At 3:45pm we began our return walk, and most of us chose to take the short loop bush track. Although
there was no views on this track it gave a welcome change from a wide gravel track to a bush track. We
were back at the carpark at 4:30pm, and were lucky to be back in our cars when a band of showers passed
over. Of course we had our mandatory icecream stop at Pokeno before we headed home, crawling along the
congested motorway between Runciman and Takanini, and arriving back at The Bracken by 6:30pm to complete
an interesting afternoon in the north Waikato.
