Nine club members tramped in Hakarimata Range. Starting from the entrance of Hakarimata Rail Trail, they
continued to the Hakarimata Walkway (southern section) until they reached the Hakarimata Summit Tower
(374 meters). Then they walked on the Summit Track, the Waterworks Walk, and Waingaro Road back to the
starting point. A total of 8.9 kilometres and about 4 hours (including lunch).
These tracks are
well-formed and easy to walk, though undulating through the forest. Along with them are attractive stream
cascades, beautiful waterfalls, and lots of native trees (rimu, miro, mata?, rewarewa, t?nekaha and kohekohe).
It was a sunny day. Standing on the Summit Tower, they enjoyed the beautiful views across the Waikato
Basin. Descending 335 meters on 1,349 steps from the Summit Tower to Brownlee Avenue wasn't a challenge
to almost all of them at all!
David shared a devotion from the Word for Today on 17/07/2026. Referring
to the walls of Jericho in the Bible, David said that "Your 'Jericho' is your fear, anger, bitterness
or prejudice. … Jericho blocks your way." God brought down the walls of Jericho for Joshua, so HE does
for you today. What you should do is to receive your victory by faith, speak your victory and walk out
your victory, one day at a time.
