A group of 16 of us braved the showery weather for a walk in Greenhithe. We met at the Anglican church
in Greenhithe Road then walked around the centre of the suburb, crossing 2 parks. Then we did a coastal
section that gave us wonderful views of the Greenhithe motorway bridge. There was a lot of road walking
because 2 areas of bush were closed due to Cyclone Gabrielle.
After the walk, we went to Sylvia
Coulter’s place for afternoon tea where Geoff shared a true story of 2 teenage schoolboys - one a Christian
and one a Muslim. The Christian lad was beaten and left for dead by the Muslim, who hated him, but who
later came to believe in God and was disowned by his family. 20 years later the 2 men met, and Zecharias
the Christian told Yasser, he had survived the attack, albeit with life lasting injuries, and had prayed
for him daily. So, a wonderful example of persevering prayer and the cost some Christians endure for
loving and believing in Jesus.
