16 people turned up on a calm and overcast winter afternoon for the always-popular coastal walk around the Witherford Heights in Glenfield. Two car loads left The Bracken at 1:30pm and met up with the rest of the group outside Glenfield College on Kaipatiki Rd.

After the usual intros and karakia we entered the bush to follow the walkway down Kaipatiki Stream.

We soon began to follow the Waitemata harbour coastline of Kaipatiki Creek.

Our afternoon tea break was at the Manuka Rd reserve and boat ramp. We could look down the Oruamo Creek towards Hobsonville.

We continued on through the spacious grass reserve.

Once again we entered the bush, following the inland boundary of the coastal strip.

We turned inland to enter the Lynn Reserve, entering native bush to gradually climb up the valley. There was a large kauri tree near the top.

The track came out on Morrigia Rd. A roadbash followed, taking in Manuka Rd and Witheford Rd. We dropped down through Antrim Place, re-entering native bush briefly to come out at our starting point.
