A mild sunny afternoon brought out 30 people to walk one of the Club’s perennial favourites, the walk
down Kaipatiki Stream to Manuka Reserve and back through the Glendhu Scenic Reserve.
We met at
the reserve on Spinella Drive at 2pm, and after our intros and karakia we went up through the Bonito
Scenic Reserve to come out on Bonito Place. From there we went along Leigh Terrace and Makuka Rd, and
dropped down into the Witheford Scenic Reserve.

The bush track along the Kaipatiki Stream was a series of ups and downs with steps. In one place
we saw a rotting log with some fungus growing, making a good photo stop.

We came out to the Manuka Reserve at the end of the Kaipatiki peninsula at 3:30pm, and had our afternoon
tea break. Christine for our devotions shared from a devotional by Eddie Askew about how plants need
light to keep them going. Like the plants, we need Jesus as our light to keep us going. We have heaps
of blessings from God each day to whom we are to be thankful.

The second part of our walk, back through the Glendhu Scenic Reserve, was shorter and not so hilly
but a nice bush track. We came out to Spinella Drive shortly before 4:30pm, having enjoyed a nice workout
in bush and streets.
