This year's Christmas Tramp was switched from the Massey/Cossey Loop to the Wairoa Loop Track due to the ongoing track upgrades. Consequently we gained the advantage of a track in pristine condition. After meeting at the Moore's Homestead and carpooling to the Dam, we enjoyed a brief snack before completing our introductions, prayer and formalities. We couldn't have asked for better. Not only was the track superb, but the company, the weather and our overall surroundings proved to be a stunning combination. Lookouts provided magnificent views of the Wairoa Dam and Reservoir, regenerating bush and the pastoral landscape. The weather was perfect for the ABTC’s end of the year family BBQ at the Moore’s Country Homestead at Hunua as thirty plus gathered for fun, conversation and games in the sun. Following a hearty banquet evening meal, club members filled the lounge and shared in a Christmas devotions presented by David, more games and singing before Cathie Black finished the day with a closing prayer on another fabulous end of year tramp and BBQ.
