Seventeen ABTC trampers headed north to Warkworth on Saturday morning, where greetings were shared, gear
sorted, and car keys exchanged. Then our two groups parted company, one group to walk from the Dome tearooms
over to Govan Wilson Road, Matakana, the other group to go the opposite way.
This was a long walk,
5 to7 hours by DOC's reckoning, but it was made longer by the fact that, at times, it was not well marked.
Both groups wandered off track during the day but managed to get back on track and every one was pleased
and happy when we met halfway for a chat and a chance to return car keys.
Then the two groups
moved on - with quite a lot of ups and downs, some lovely views and, of course, a fair amount of mud!
