A group of 35 people met at the carpark beside the duckpond at Auckland Domain for an interesting night
walk. We set out at 7:15pm and circumnavigated the duckpond. In one place we saw a goose, as well as
admired the vegetation with our torches and headlamps.

From there we went up alongside the wintergardens and past another pond and a large sculpture before
going on to the Auckland Museum all lit up in red splendour. We walked around the museum before stopping
for a group photo near the cenotaph. After admiring the view of central Auckland by night we went back
down to the duckpond carpark and on to Lovers Lane.

for a group photo near the cenotaph. After admiring the view of central Auckland by night we went back
down to the duckpond carpark and on to Lovers Lane. This was a bush track that followed down a gully
with a stream. It was now time to dim our lamps - there were heaps of glow worms lining the side of the
track like a starry night. We did a little circuit around some bush tracks near the bottom before returning
back up the track to enjoy the glow worms once more.
