About thirty people dressed up in black and white for a fun social evening at Mt Albert Methodist Church
that included a pot luck dinner, dancing and Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy movies. Some of the
fancy garb included a black afro hairstyle, black lettering on someone’s face done with a marking pen,
a black suit with bowler hat and tartan tie, and a white helmet with tinsel.

The evening began soon after 6pm with a short mix-and-mingle time before a yumptious smorgasbord
of contributions from everyone was served up.

DJ Rob led us in a singalong medley before handing out the words for a song he had composed for the
Club and inviting us to sing along with him.

Dancing then got under way - Rob took us through classic dances such as the waltz, macarena, locomotion,
limbo, hokey tokey, bird dance and rock ‘n’ roll.

Meanwhile in the next room, classic black-and-white comedy from Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy
was being shown using the Club’s data projector. Later, about 10pm, we all came back into the main hall
for Linda S to had out spot prizes.
