33 people had a lovely time walking the path from Beachlands to Maraetai. We set out just before 2:30pm from the end of Shelly Bay Rd and went through the Leigh Auton Reserve following the clifftops before dropping down to Te Puru Reserve. From there we went into the Omana Regional Park and had our afternoon tea break at Omana Beach. Some of us went into the water for a refreshing swim.

Our leader Barbara Steel shared thoughts about Psalm 104 a song of praise to God. She feels close to God when she is on her feet singing in church, but that may not apply to everyone, one can feel close to Him in places such as sitting beside the beach, walking in the bush and being close to nature.

We continued along the short coastal path to some out at Maraetai, where we had icecreams at the cafe on the beach. Some of us chose to walk back the same way to the start, and the rest of us waited for the drivers to be taken back to fetch their cars.
