About 35 people forewent the evening’s rugby to gather at the home of Jocelyn in St Johns to travel the
South Americas following the footsteps of a group of members who went there over the summer holidays.
We began with drinks from 7pm, and at 7:30pm we were seated ready to begin our journey.
Nelson
introduced the trip, taking us to Rio de Janiero with its beaches, highrises and rocky outcrops. CS and
Michelle took us up the Amazon River, along the Inca Trail and the Colca Canyon. We went to Lake Titicaca
and Peru with Jeff.
We had a break for a lavish pot-luck supper, after which Joy took us to Ushuaia
Moreno Perito Lake District. After visiting Villarrica Nelson showed us around Eater Island, well known
for its large rock carvings. We finished the evening by visiting the Galapagos Islands with Ted.
