The first Sunday of spring brought out 27 people and one dog to explore the walkway following Lucas Creek
in Albany. Eight people left The Bracken at 1:30pm to join up with the others at Kell Park at the north
end of the Albany village shops, where a group of hens were there to greet us.

After the usual intros and karakia we set out to follow the riverside track, crossing a bridge before
continuing through a reserve.

Like humans, dogs like saying hello to other dogs they bump into on the way.

We continued along a strip reserve between the hice and the creek. Further on we saw a flock of geese
which eventually took refuge in the river.

From there we passed the landing, being the site of the original Albany wharf, then onto a wetland
pond that had been made to enhance the environment and beauty of the area.

We came out at Kinleith Street. While some of us chose to return the same way to Kell Park, others
returned along the roads to pass the university campus, basking in liquid sunshine often encountered
on Saturdays Sundays and public holidays.

To finish off a wonderful afternoon of exercise and fellowship we enjoyed a coffee at a nearby cafe/bar.
