61 people and one dog attended the AGM Dinner last night at Eden Community Church. We had a yummy
dinner of chicken and vegies followed by dessert of pavlova, apple crumble and fruit salad.

Afterwards we gathered in the church lounge to begin our formal time, but when the projector broke
down we had to move to the church auditorium. Phillip Donnell gave devotions on how God's real presence
can be experienced in the great outdoors, and how while on a tramp to Sabine Hut He spoke to him in that
manner about an issue he was facing.

Club member Laurie King, dressed in his hi-viz gear and with his working dog, gave an interesting
presentation about his volunteer work with Search And Rescue, which he has been doing for 15 years, including
a hunt for two fishermen missing at Martins Bay, an injured elderly man winched from the Waitakere Ranges,
the hunt for Blessie Gotingo that sadly ended as a murder inquiry, and how a plot of cannabis was found
and subsequently destroyed in bush during a search for a man with a mental condition.

The AGM itself followed, and the new executive was elected by confidence vote: Paul Ungemuth remains
president with Roger Donnell as vice-president, Jocelyn Brodie becomes the secretary and Coral Wong the
treasurer. Committee members include David Walker, Tina Chen, Barbara Langridge, Ali Norton and John
McCarthy plus newcomers Murray Black and Esther Rhee.
