The AGM Dinner is always a well-supported highlight of the Club year, and this year was no exception
with 47 people showing up at the Carey Baptist College in Penrose. The event began at 5:30pm with the
customary mix-and-mingle over drinks.

We sat down to dinner at 5:50pm, soup and rolls being served to the tables adorned with pink camellia
posies. We took turns table by table to help ourselves to a smorgasbord of ham and vegies, and later
to a dessert selection of apple crumble, cream and ice cream.

The AGM proper followed. President Barbara gave a report of the Club over the past year, focussing
on Active Members, Biblical Focus, Tramping Opportunities and Committee Business, and quoting Psalm
18:46 - The Lord lives! Praise be to my rock! Exalted be God my Saviour! The Lord has taken us through
and helped us. John then presented a slideshow of Club trips and activities from August 07 to July 08
set to jazz music before Joy gave the treasurer’s report. Voting papers were handed out and scrutineers
appointed for the election of the new executive for the coming year. The nominations for the officers
and committee all passed the confidence vote. Barbara Langridge continues as president, Nelson Young
as vice-president, Eileen Jacobsen as secretary, and Joy Whitehead as treasurer. Committee members David
Walker, John McCarthy, Roger Donnell, Linda Sutton, Gary Thompson, and Steve Calley were joined by newcomer
Carole Thornton. Thank you cards were handed out to Sonia, Stuart and Jill who chose not to stand again
for the exec. Two new proposals were accepted by show-of-hands - Val presented the idea of an annual
challenge event, and Lynley shared her vision of a photo competition. Peter O explained the contents
of a survival kit that trampers are recommended to take with them on all trips. The new committee came
to the front to be prayed for by Peter before Barbara shared a photographic reflection on How to live
Life and closed the meeting with prayer.
