24 people turned up at Daystar next to the Eden Community Church in View Rd, Mt Eden to take an armchair
journey to Africa following the footsteps of Linda who did a trip there last year.
We first of
all had an attempt at climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in the whole of Africa. We went as far
as the final hut and camp on the track - Linda is to be congratulated for making the attempt to climb
the mountain, although altitude sickness forced her climb to be abandoned. From there we carried on through
countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe, seeing elephants and other wild animals, the Bushmen, and a
variety of scenery ranging from desert to bush.
Afterwards we went into the kitchen area for a
lavish pot-luck supper.
