Fourteen people were lured by sunshine in the middle of the day to Wenderholm, not realising what they
would be in for, although the correct garb was brought along. A carload of four left The Bracken at 1:30pm,
the rest met at Wenderholm.
On went the raincoats, the intros were given, the prayer was said,
and we were on our way climbing up the Perimeter Track over lengthy sections of boardwalk and up through
the bush to the clifftops. From there the track, now of “tramping track standard” dropped down towards
the Waiwera estuary.

We had a stand-up afternoon tea stop once the track reached the Waiwera estuary.

From there we continued along the Perimeter Track as it climbed up, now back to well-formed track
with boardwalks, to the ridge. Our original intention was to take the Puhoi Track up to the grassy clearing
on the summit of Wenderholm, but we decided instead to continue along the Perimeter Track back to Couldrey
House and the carpark.
