Twenty people took advantage of the first really fine day after a week of wet and blustery weather more
like August than February to walk the clifftops of Long Bay Regional Park and return along the coast.
We set out soon after 2pm from the furthermost carpark of the regional park, stopping to have a quick
look at the Vaughan Homestead which unfortunately was not open.

From there we climbed up to follow the clifftops track, dropping down a few times to sea level on
the way.

At Piripiri Point we could look across to the Okura River to Dacre Cottage and the Okura Bush Walkway
which, like Long Bay, is a perennial Club favourite.

We had our afternoon tea break at the end of the track where it went down to the beach.

The tide was out so we were able to return along the foreshore. Being summer, walking along the rocks
below the stratified sandstone cliffs was not at all slippery provided one put one’s feet on dry sections
of rock.

We arrived back at the carpark about 5pm, having enjoyed a lovely summer afternoon walk.
