Fifteen people turned out for a pleasant afternoons walk through a bush reserve and along the Opanuku
Stream in Henderson. We met at the Opanuku Reserve carpark on Henderson Valley Rd at 2pm, then set out
to walk the length of the Opanuku Walkway which goes through to Border Rd.
The track went through
Opanuku Reserve, following the stream, to come out to the playing fields of Henderson Park.

We continued around the tree-lined edge of Henderson Park, eventually coming to a footbridge after
going under a fallen tree and scrambling up a small rough piece of track.

We crossed the bridge and entered bush as we continued upstream. The track was mostly level, with
one or two tiny uphills and downhills, and was boardwalk in places.

The track finished at a small picnic spot on Border Rd. After an afternoon tea break we returned
the way we came, but cut across Henderson Park, and arrived back at the starting point just after 4pm.
